Obituary for Agatha Krueger

Agatha (nee Friesen) Krueger, age 97, of Winnipeg, MB, passed away March 29, 2022. She was the oldest of 7 children, born June 30, 1924, in the village of Marjewka, South Russia (Ukraine). Her parents Peter P. and Katherina Friesen and their families came to Canada in 1925. Agatha was only 10 months old at the time. They were very poor, and yet so thankful.

She married John Krueger in 1949 and they enjoyed many years of church ministry together, until he died in 2003. At the Roseau River Reservation she taught many women how to sew and cook. She loved music and was also part of forming the Keenagers Choir.

Agatha’s faith was real as she demonstrated her love for God throughout every part of life. She was baptized at age 18. Her love for God and the Bible was evident.

Agatha loved life and would say, “I can’t believe I’m 97 years old!” She often said how much she loved every one of her children and grandchildren, whom she prayed for daily.

Agatha is survived by her children: Dora & Sid Koop, Ruth & Dennis Reimer, John & Louanna Krueger, Ron & Margaret Rose Krueger, Liz & Brian Gerbrandt, Don Krueger & Luna Chappell, 17 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 3 sisters. She is predeceased by her husband, 2 grandchildren and 3 siblings.
