Obituary for Alex Woodhouse
Alexander (Alex) Gordon Woodhouse, beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend passed away suddenly on March 30, 2023 in Winnipeg Manitoba. Alex was born on August 9, 1972 in Winnipeg to Grace Dodge.
Alex was a loving and devoted husband to Tannis, and a devoted father to Xander, Aiden and Hannalyn. He was also a loving father to his niece and nephew Tuesday and Bryn Woodhouse. Alex was a loving brother to Bill Dodge, Deborah Woodhouse, Carla Cook (Albert) and his other sisters Annette, Jennifer and Bonnie, and his brothers-in-law John, DJ, Dennis, Aaron and Steven. Alex was a caring and giving soul to so many including his numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Alex was a kind and generous man who was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was dedicated to his family, his wife, his kids and his mother. He loved spending time with his kids camping and boating at The Narrows making lifetime memories and being there for his children. Alex also dedicated much of his time to his “Boys” in his Group Home and any other children or family that needed him.
Alex was predeceased by his grandparents Jeannie and Alex Woodhouse, his father Lawrence Dodge, his sister Lois Woodhouse, his aunts Hattie Letander and Lena Woodhouse, his uncles George and Thomas Woodhouse and his nephew Steven Dodge who he lovingly called his brother.
Alex will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He was a kind and gentle soul who will be remembered for his infectious smile, his hugs and his kind words of encouragement.
A funeral service will be held in Winnipeg on Saturday April 8, 2023 at 2:00pm with a viewing at 1:00pm at the Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street, Wpg, MB.
This funeral will be followed with a wake and funeral service in Fairford, MB on Tuesday April 11 and Wednesday April 12, 2023.
