Obituary for Angelo Donald Binda

ANGELO BINDA

With sadness we announce the passing of Angelo on April 4, 2022, at the age of 87 years at the Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg.

Angelo is lovingly remembered by Marlene (nee Haarsma), his wife of 65 years, sons, Donald (Marj) and David, 3 granddaughters: Kelley (Alex), Katie (Mike) and Courtney (Seth) and great-granddaughter Eden.

Angelo was born on December 23,1934 in Kenora, Ontario. The youngest of 5 children to his Italian immigrant parents Mario & Ida. At an early age his family moved to Bird’s Hill, Manitoba. Angelo’s career centred around the ownership and operation of the Transcona Fruit Home and then after the sale of the business, worked the balance of his career with the City of Winnipeg at both Kildonan & Windsor Park golf courses.

Angelo was predeceased by all of his siblings; Peppino (Olga), Raymond, Irene (Bill) & Johnny (Phyllis). Angelo is also survived by sister in-law Shirley Binda, several nieces, nephews and many extended family.

We would like to express our heartfelt and sincere thank-you to all the staff at Middlechurch for their care and compassion extended to both Angelo and our family. We would also like to acknowledge and thank the numerous health care individuals that we encountered during dads health care journey.

Flowers are gratefully declined. In lieu, donations can be made in Angelo’s memory to a charity of your choice.


The Celebration of Life Service for Angelo Binda has been rescheduled to Wednesday, May 11th, 2022 at 10:30am. at Larters @ St. Andrews Golf & Country Club, 30 River Road, St. Andrews, Manitoba.
