Obituary for Carol Bergmann

Carol Diane Bergmann

August 21, 1957 - April 4, 2023

It is with profound sadness that the family of Carol Diane Bergmann announces the passing of their beloved wife, mom and grammy. On April 4, with family by her side, she entered the presence of Jesus.

Carol was born on August 21, 1957, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She grew up on the family farm, in Ile Des Chenes, as the eldest of four siblings. She attended school and youth group in Niverville, where she met Rudy. They were married on July 23, 1977, and built their life together on the farm in Glenlea. She was employed at the Canadian Wheat Board until William arrived. She then made the decision to be a full-time homemaker and later, a flower farmer, alongside Marianne.

Her faith in Christ was her lifelong guide. She served others by singing in the choir, leading Bible studies, cooking at camp and reaching out to those in need. Her generosity and compassion did not go unnoticed.

Carol’s family was her life and time spent together was precious. Be it a family dinner, sleepovers or picnics with the grandkids or travelling together, she prioritized her family.

Nothing sparked Carol’s interest more than gardening. Spending time in her garden gave her great joy and purpose, and connected her to God. While she loved all aspects of gardening, she was particularly inspired by the flowers she grew.

Carol is survived by her husband, Rudy, and their two children; Will (Jen) and Marianne. Her legacy continues through their three grandchildren; Brooklyn, Cole and Emmett. She is also survived by her mother, Martha, and her siblings; Ken (Cyndy), Randy (Karen) and Cathy (Gary). She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will take place at Whyte Ridge Baptist Church on Monday, April 10th at 11:30.

Donations can be made, in Carol’s honour, to Cancer Care or Compassion Canada.
