It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Cornelius Elias our beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle. Cornelius passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on, December 3, 2022, at the age of 77.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Hilda; children, Lynn (Paul), Peter (Jennifer) Susan (Brian) Rachel; 10 grandchildren: Michael, Christopher, Kevin, Dean, Brandon, Riley, Justin, Ashley, Sabrina, Charles; three great grandchildren, Lynaihya, Alistair and Tyson; brother George and sister Betty, and many nieces and nephews.
Cornelius was predeceased by his parents Diedrich and Sarah Elias; brothers, Jake, Peter, John, Dave Deidrick and sister Sadie.
Cornelius was the third youngest son of 10 children born to Dedrich and Sarah Elias (nee Wolfe). Cornelius’s brothers and sisters in order from eldest to the youngest, Jake, Pete, Sadie, John Dave, Deidrick, Cornelius, George, and Betty.
The most important people in Cornelius’s life were always his family. Dad married Hilda the love of his life on June 24, 1978, and they have been happily married and inseparable for 44 years. They blended their families which grew to include four children, 10 grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
In life, we loved you dearly, in death we love you still. In our hearts you hold a special place, no one else will ever fill. You will always be in our hearts.
Please join us in a Celebration of Life for Cornelius Elais at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at the Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street, Winnipeg MB. Interment at Gretna Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
