Coryn Nathan James Kemp
It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of Coryn Nathan James Kemp on March 20, 2023 in Winnipeg, MB.
He was born on April 18, 1993 in Winnipeg, MB and was a beloved son to Donald, adored stepson to Lucy and precious grandson to Mary and James, and to Theresa and Gerald, and dear nephew to Sandra, and will be deeply missed by numerous family and friends.
Coryn was an avid gamer and cinema enthusiast, using as many opportunities as he could to play a game or watch a movie. He would often be found on an adventure of the pixelated sort, escaped into a world of flashing lights and crazy sounds, virtual other worlds he would find comfort and happiness in. He enjoyed the outdoors, often visiting his grandparents when younger out on their farmstead, running around catching frogs or helping his grandpa fix this, that or the other and would often, as inquisitive children do, get into everything else in between. As he got older, he found interest in hands on work, and he enjoyed landscaping and shaping the earth, as well as learning to work on homes.
Coryn was passionate about following his own path in life, up or down, left or right. He was strong willed and wanted to do life on his terms, his way, always determined. He was also kind, and generous to those in need, even if it meant giving out his last bit of change. Though troubled, he found solace and comfort in the word of God, and in prayer, always carrying around a cross or bible with him. A scripture he had a particular fondness for came from Psalm 34:8 Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him! He was also a caretaker to animals, working amongst them at Craig Street Cats, giving of heart and time to our furry companions.
Whether he knew it or not, he was a source of joy for and impacted the lives of those around him. They remembered him, he made them smile, and laugh with his skewed sense of humor. He was thoughtful, and though he was quiet more often than not, there was an intelligent depth to that silence that gave him a perception and wisdom beyond his years. He will be deeply missed, but the time he was allowed with us will be cherished, thought of often and celebrated. We take solace, through our suffering, that the Lords promise tells us that we will meet again, at heaven’s gate, until then, safe journey and may the way before you be green and golden.
"He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” - Revelation 21:4
