DAVID ALEXANDER MC ELHERAN
David's family sadly announces he passed away, peacefully on December 31, 2020 with his family at his side. He is survived by his wife Carole, of over 55 years. His adult children, Catherine, Allan, Kenneth and Rubi. His grandchildren Hannah, David, Ava, Sabrina and Charlotte. Each of whom meant everything to him. He always had a story or wisdom to share with them. He had several careers and retired from the Federal Government as Assistant Deputy Commissioner of the Competition Bureau with Industry Canada. In retirement, David found pure joy volunteering in the cardiac unit of St. Boniface Hospital for many years. He brought comfort, encouragement and humour to patients recovering or waiting surgery. We are grateful to Dr. M. Raabe who extended David's life by many years. David spent long hours in Cancer Care as a patient; the family is thankful to the Doctors and staff for their dedication. Thank you to the wonderful staff at HSC WRS-2 for the kindness and compassion they had extended in making David's final days peaceful and surrounded by family. We feel blessed to have had their support.
There will not be a funeral due to COVID-19.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to Cancer Care or St. Boniface Hospital cardiac unit.
