Obituary for Dennis Wayne Perkins

DENNIS WAYNE PERKINS

Dennis passed away peacefully and unexpectedly on December 3, 2022, with his beloved family by his side. Born in Winnipeg July 28, 1944, to his parents, Frank and Helen. He was predeceased by his parents, siblings (Jim and Dorothy) and his loving wife Judy. He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his partner Maureen, sister Doreen (Bill), daughter Cori (Will), sons Craig (Jennifer) and Damien, grandsons Brennan (Melisa), Dustyn (Jenn), Jordan, Chase (Tia), Zachary, Logan, Coltan (Karly) and Jaxen, and great-grandson Braxton.

When Dennis and Judy married in 1998, he became an instant dad to Judy’s children and a grandfather to four grandsons (eventually growing to 8 and 1 great-grandson). He didn’t take that responsibility lightly. Always there for us whenever we needed him.

Dennis was known for many things. His love for his family, never hesitating to be the first to help those who needed help or guidance, his quirky wit, quick comebacks, contagious laugh and always having mints and candies in his pockets to share with the kids.

He was thoroughly enjoying his retirement years. Spending time with family and friends meant the most to him. Whether it be meals at Salisbury House, running his grandsons all over the city or visiting them at work, family get-togethers, building and painting numerous models, or just hanging out at home with his grandsons.

The family would like to express our gratitude to the nurses and staff of St. Boniface Hospital (CCU) for their kindness and compassionate care of Dennis.

In accordance with Dennis’ wishes, cremation has taken place. No funeral will be held. A private family gathering will take place at a later date.
