Obituary for Evelyn Alma Thiessen (Andres)
EVELYN THIESSEN
Peacefully on July 11, 2022, at the Bethania Personal Care Home, Evelyn Alma Thiessen passed on into the arms of Jesus. Evelyn is lovingly remembered by two daughters, four sons, eleven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She is survived by two sisters and was predeceased by her husband Harry Thiessen and one brother.
Evelyn was born in Herbert, Saskatchewan on September 2, 1932. She moved with her family to Vancouver where she met and later married Harry E. Thiessen on May 22, 1951. She moved to Winnipeg in 1954 where she loved and cared for her growing family. She, along with Harry, went into full time ministry with Canadian Revival Fellowship in 1984. After Harry’s death in 1998, she moved to Victoria B.C. in 2005, along with one son and his family. She remained in Victoria until 2019, residing with her oldest son. She arrived back in Winnipeg June of 2019 where she made her home at Bethania PCH.
Her love for her family was matchless, beyond degree and her heart’s desire to share time with them was profound, like our Heavenly Father’s heart to be with us in everything.
Evelyn was a woman of prayer. She prayed for each of her six kids and their respective families on a specific day of the week. All her kids knew their specific day and took comfort in knowing that their believing mother was in quiet prayer for them. She was a prayer warrior that will be sorely missed.
Service of remembrance will take place on Wednesday July 20 at 12:00 p.m. at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street, with viewing on Tuesday, July 19 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Friends Funeral Service.
