The family would like to extend acknowledgement of friends and relatives who have impacted the life of Genene.
Genene Went to Haile Aba-Mersa Primary and Secondary School in Arsi, Ethiopia before he came to Canada in the year 2010. He worked as a building maintenance worker at Manitoba Hydro Building in Downtown Winnipeg. Genene is remembered as a humble, kind and caring colleague, a mentor and above all as a friend and brother to many who dearly miss him. Genene loved sport, athletics, and music.
The family and friends announce with such great sadness the passing of Genene Abebe on May 29th, 2020 at the age of 43 years at the St. Boniface General Hospital Emergency Department.
Genene will be missed by his sisters Tigist Adamu, Aynalem Girma, Mekdes Tessema and his brother Asnake Girma. The family would also like to extend the acknowledgement to all of his friends, colleagues and community members who have been such great allies and support to Genene.
