Obituary for Gordonna Evelyn Frieda Summerfield (Marsh)
GORDONNA EVELYN FREDA SUMMERFIELD (nee MARSH)
It is with great sadness the family of Donna Summerfield announces her passing on December 21, 2020, at home, aged 75 years.
Lovingly remembered by her husband Victor of 50 years, son Barry and fiancee Michelle, daughter Shannon and husband Rod Chandler; her sister Barbara and husband Franklen Stuart-Edwards; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Donna was predeceased by her mother and father Olive Evelyn and Robert Marsh, her sister Roberta (Gail) Harvey, her brother Robert Marsh, and her brother-in-law Duke (Ron) Harvey.
Donna was born on April 5, 1945 in Winnipeg, MB. where she attended Pembina Crest School, Vincent Massey Collegiate and later attended Pembina Crest Adult Education Centre graduating with honors.
Devoted to her family, Donna was a very giving and caring person. For many years she attended the United Church and enjoyed participating in the Sunday School and Young Peoples Group. She was also heavily involved in the Girl Guides of Canada Movement and became a member of the 24th Brownie Pack, Girl Guides, Rangers, and also became a Tawny Owl Leader.
In her later years, Donna learned the art of knitting and with many dedicated hours became avid and meticulous with her endeavors. She always took great pleasure in sharing her accomplishments among family and friends. Not only will Donna be remembered for her warm-heartedness and close friendships with those around her, but also for her warm mittens.
In accordance with Donna’s wishes cremation has taken place and no service will be held. If people wish to honour Donna’s memory donations may be made to:
