Obituary for Helen Podjan (Harder)

HELEN PODJAN

Unexpectedly, yet peacefully, on April 8,2023, Helen Podjan passed away at Concordia Personal Care home at the age of 79 years.

She was predeceased by her parents, Cornelius and Agnes Harder, siblings Cornelius Jr, Mary, and Willy.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Sharon Dubeck (Chris) son, Marc Podjan, brother Jack(Marianne), sister Anne(Ken), grandchildren Jennifer (Matt), Lindsay (Adam), Samantha (Michael), Cameron, Dayton, Tyra along with her great granddaughter Kinslee, nieces and nephews, Erin (Jeremy), Kerry, Brady, Michael, Brian, Keith (Louise), and great nieces and nephews Jocelyn (Justin), Patrick, Ella, Aiden, Esmay, Xander, Leisha and Kodi.

Mom was the most dedicated and hard-working employee a boss would be lucky enough to have. She worked all sorts of jobs, sometimes 2 at a time, owned a restaurant in Niverville for a couple years , and her last and most loved job was bookkeeping. She worked for her sister-in-law, Marianne at IDC Tax service and years later when Marianne sold the business, she continued to work there for her new boss Santos. She definitely went over and above the call of duty and considered Santos a true friend.

She never complained about work or life and certainly not the weather. The one thing we learned quickly was not to complain about the weather or you’d get the reply “if you don’t like it move somewhere warm"

She was an avid cat lover, and loved playing Mahjong and Solitaire along with scratching 5.00 crosswords .

She is already and will continue to be missed so much by all of us.

We would like to thank the all the third-floor staff at the Concordia Place Care home for their kindness and care, along with a special thank you to Bianca and David for her care on her last day.
