It is with sadness we announce the sudden passing of Bert “Sugarfoot” Rous, husband of Laurie Rous on April 22, 2022. His ever-loyal sidekick “Shea” was by his side to the very end.

Bert is survived by daughter Shannon; siblings, Jeff (Monica), Chris (Natalie), Michelle, Cal (Charlotte); sister-in-law Diane; in-laws Kerry and Bill; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Bert was pre-deceased by his brother Stuart.

The trucking industry was Bert’s life from the age of 17 where he made many life-long friends. Outside of work, Bert’s pure love of riding horses and motorcycles involved him in numerous charitable events, in particular Children’s Wish Ride and Ride for Dad.

Everyone who knew Bert also knew he was never at a loss for words. He loved to kibitz with anyone he met.
Words cannot express the sincere gratitude for the lifelong friendship and support from dear friends Norm and Sandy Hiebert.

Laurie and Bert would like to thank Dr. John Embil for his extraordinary care and support over the last years.

Love of laughter did not die with Bert.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bert’s memory to Darcy’s Animal Rescue Centre.
