Obituary for Izzy Rose Peters

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Izzy Rose Peters, age 4, beloved daughter of Travis and Samantha (Klassen) Peters, and big sister to baby brother Remmy (4 months). Izzy was born on November 27, 2019 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and passed away very unexpectedly due to unforeseen health complications on December 27, 2023 at Children’s Hospital in Winnipeg.

Izzy was a fearless and adventurous little girl who bravely followed her Dad anywhere, from snowmobiling, to wakeboarding, to rides on his motorcycle. She was sweet and sassy, and loved spending time with her Mom singing silly songs together, and more recently enjoyed doting on her new baby brother, Rem.

Izzy was dearly loved and cherished by her ‘Glamma’, Anita Peters and ‘Pop Pop’, Rick Peters, as well as by her ‘Oma’, Nettie Klassen and ‘Opa’, Dietrich Klassen, who are all deeply grieved by her premature departure from their lives. Izzy also leaves behind her beloved Aunties, Uncles and Cousins who will miss her presence with them; Aunt Angie (Klassen) and Uncle Jer Pickel and their three children; Carson, Avery and Eden, Aunt Crystal (Klassen) and Uncle Chris Siemens and their three children; Presley, Hunter, and Cooper, Uncle Dallis Klassen and Aunt Kelsey Griffith-Parker and their daughter Daphne. Izzy was a beautiful and vibrant soul whose brief life touched many. She will be dearly missed by her many other extended family members, her parents’ friend groups, and her pre-school classmates at Frere Jacques Nursery School. Izzy also touched the staff of the Children’s Hospital while she was in their care, and to whom her parents extend gratitude for their support and care.

A celebration of Izzy’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Springfield Heights Mennonite Church, 570 Sharon Bay in Winnipeg, MB.
