Obituary

JAMES TERENCE CREAN

James Terence Crean passed away peacefully December 8, 2020 at the age of 75.

He is survived by his wife Lorna, his sister Frances; brothers-in-law, Dennis and Harvey; and sisters in law, Rose and Judy.

Jim enjoyed two long careers: teaching and working in the Hansard Office at the Manitoba Legislature. Jim truly valued his many friends both those that he made here, as well as childhood friends he kept in touch with in Chicago.

Sincere thanks for all the compassion, love and practical help given to us during this difficult time.

So sorry to have learned of Jim's illness and passing. I was so privileged to have worked with him at the Hansard for ten years, where I quickly became impressed with his kindness, tolerance, work ethic and generosity. He took pride in his work on the Hansard, and was a patient and knowledgeable teacher to those of us who worked with him and needed his help. He worked hard to foster a strong team spirit with his staff. He encouraged us to take our break at the same time, where we quickly bonded over shared stories and laughter, and at the end of every session, he would take us out to an expensive restaurant for lunch, where he spared no expense to show us his appreciation. He was a true gentleman, and I feel so honoured to have worked with him and to have continued to be his friend after my retirement. I will miss our dinners together with him and Lorna, Bill and I, and Ray and Barb. Our deepest condolences, Lorna. We will really miss him.
