Obituary for Janice Irene Kroeker (Wiens)

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, Janice Irene Kroeker nee Wiens on October 25, 2022 with her husband by her side. We are relieved that her pain has been removed and celebrate that she is now secure in the arms of her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and reunited with her babies Bradley and Glenda.

Janice was born in Carman Memorial Hospital on July 24, 1946 to Herman and Aganetha Wiens. She grew up in a strong Christian home and attended school in Graysville, MB. Janice was baptized upon the confession of her faith on June 5, 1966 at Graysville Bergthaler Church by Bishop J.F. Pauls.

Janice married the love of her life, Peter Kroeker on April 20, 1968 at Morden Bergthaler Church by Rev. Henry Isaak. Janice and Peter were married 54 years and 6 months. They spent most of their married life on a small acreage in St. Andrews. They transformed an empty lot into a beautiful home that they built and park like yard, where they raised their sons Reg and Mark.

Janice first attended Home Street Mennonite Church, where she was very involved as a Sunday School teacher. Mom was part of the building of Good News Mennonite Church and was an active member till her passing. She served on the Music Committee and served as a Deacon. She took great pride in her yard, especially her flower and vegetable gardens. Summers were a time of beauty on their yard. There was always an array of colours and flowers to enjoy. She enjoyed traveling to Switzerland, Florida, Texas and across Canada with her husband Peter and other family members.

Janice was predeceased by one son Bradley, one daughter Glenda, her parents Herman and Aganetha Wiens and one brother Donald. Mom leaves to mourn her husband Peter, children Reg (Myrna), Mark, three granddaughters Emily, Meadow and Jazmine, two sisters and their families.
