Linda Pauls
Our loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Linda Pauls, passed away peacefully at home with her sister by her side, in Winnipeg, Manitoba on June 6th, 2022 at the age of 60 years old, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Linda is survived by her daughter Amanda Hebert, Son-in-Law Matthew Hebert; Granddaughters, Rylie and Nora Hebert; dear friend and caregiver Donna Wladyka and family; Sister Anita Penner, Brother-in-Law Danny Penner; and niece and nephew, Stephanie; and Michael, his wife Jennifer Penner, Stepmother Irene Pauls; as well as many loving friends and family. She is predeceased by her Mother Helen Pauls and Father Daniel Pauls.
Linda was a natural born caregiver, living to help others. Whether that was dropping everything for her daughter, flying to the US for a friend in need, or taking meals to those suffering in the community. Linda was truly a selfless woman, putting everyone’s needs before her own. Linda was also incredibly loyal, she worked for Canada Life for over 40 years, even continuing to work while she received cancer treatments. Her career and her many lifelong work friends were extremely important to her. She took immense pride in her role at Canada Life and the many accomplishments she collected over the years.
Her loyalty didn’t stop at her career but more importantly to the relationships she’s nurtured over
her lifetime. Some of Linda’s closest friends have been with her anywhere from 15 to 50 years!
Family was also very important to her, always checking in with loved ones near and far, making
sure everyone knew they were loved. Linda loved her family fiercely and deeply, although she
only had Matt and Amanda, she loved their friends like they were her own and throughout the
years was a “second mom” to so many. Always cheering for the underdog and her infectious
laughter will be greatly missed.
As a family we would like to thank the many doctors, surgeons, nurses, healthcare aids, and hospital staff for doing their best in caring for Mom. We would also like to thank her team at CancerCare Manitoba and Palliative Care, for making Mom’s wish of being at home possible.
More importantly we would like to thank Donna, her dear friend for coming to her side and taking such good care of her when she needed it the most. We gained valuable time with mom because of the level of care you provided. Your sacrifice and hard work are not lost on us.
A big thank you to our family and Mom’s church family at Douglas for providing so many meals, gifts and prayers, we couldn’t have gotten through all of this without your love and support.
Forever in our hearts and never forgotten.
A Celebration of Life will take place at Douglas Mennonite Church on June 18th, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. Linda had requested that in-lieu of flowers, she would like donations to be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
