Margarida Hamm (née Kasdorf)
September 24th, 1953 - August 22nd, 2020
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Margarida Hamm.
Margarida touched the lives of many and will forever be missed.
Left to mourn are her husband Manfred Hamm of 48 years; her children, Claudia (Hildor), Darlene (Mike) and Marvin (Nicky); as well as her beloved grandchildren, Emily, Thomas, Janelle, Justin and Ryan. Also left to mourn are her Step Mother, her siblings and their spouses and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends were so important to her and she loved each and every person she crossed paths with.
Margarida was born September 24th, 1953 in Curitiba, Brazil to Abram and Sara Kasdorf. where she spent her childhood and her youth with her loving family of 4 sisters and 2 brothers (Kati, Helga, Lori, Elizabeth, Walter and Bert) which later in life grew by 3 brothers and 1 sister (Elvira, Ari, Hans, Peter and another loving mom Elizabeth). She moved to Canada in 1970 where she was baptized at Springfield Heights Mennonite church.
Margarida married the love of her life, Manfred, August 12th 1972 and gave birth to her three beautiful children.
She worked in many places once she moved to Canada, starting at a sewing factory for Tan Jay, DeFehr Furniture, and spending her last ten working years as a cashier at Safeway.
She loved to work and she always said that all she worked for were her children and her grandchildren so they could have an easier life and a good education.
Her goal in life was to raise her family in Gods way. She loved her family with all she had.
When cancer struck, she asked for prayers, which she felt immensely everyday and they helped her in her fight.
Love and faith have saved her, and she will live forever.
At the very end, she pointed her finger up and said she was ready to go to heaven, where we are certain she went.
Gone too soon, until we meet again.
