It is with great sadness to announce the unexpected passing of our beloved wife, mother, daughter and sister Maria Luisa "Maris"/"Lui". She was called home on December 1st, 2020 at the age of 39 while in the hospital. Lui was born in the Philippines on July 9, 1981. Her loving parents are Luis and Evelyn Mayo with two siblings - Josef and Gerald. She was married to Jigs in 2010. And they had two amazing kids - Gabrielle (9-year-old) and Gerard (4-year-old).
She graduated from University of Santo Tomas in 2002 with a degree of AB Legal Management and she also took teaching course at Philippine Normal University. She worked as a pre-school teacher back in the Philippines before they decided to migrate in Canada in 2016. She worked as a substitute teacher in Winnipeg School Division while completing her education to get her permanent license as a teacher. She was a very loving wife and hands-on mother to her kids. She loves reading books, eating her type of food, listen to their favorite songs, and she always spend her time teaching and playing with her kids.
On behalf of Oroceo family, we sincerely want to say "Thank you" for the prayers and support. We are also very grateful for her physicians and medical staff who closely monitored and helped her throughout her struggle.
A viewing is scheduled for two nights, December 8th & 9th at 5:00-9:00pm, so family, relatives and friends would be able to see her. The blessing will be officiated by Fr. Dominic Yuen at St. Anthony of Padua Parish on 10th of December 2020 at 10:00 am.
