Obituary for Mary Anne Fehr (Sawatzky)

Mary Anne Fehr (nee Sawatzky)

Suddenly, on the morning of March 15, 2022, Mary Anne Fehr passed away peacefully to join her family and friends in Heaven. Mary Anne was predeceased by her parents, Abram & Helena Sawatzky of Grunthal, MB and her in-laws, Henry & Katharina of Winkler, MB, along with brothers-in-law Larry and Abe and niece Deborah.

Her loving husband of 49 years, John, will miss her dearly. Also left to celebrate her memory are her children and grandchildren, Tracy & Angie (Kaylee, Tristan, Tanner), Darcy & Christina (Caetlyn, Aedyn), Curtis & Milenys (Patricia), Clarice & Stuart (Juliana, Jillian), and Duane & Kim (Kelsie, David, Adam).

She is also survived by her siblings, Betty, Ed (Lina), Pete, Alvin (Blu), Kim (Frank); and siblings-in-law, Helen, Henry (Mary), Abe (Sylvia), Mary (Tony), Kathy (Robert), Betty (Scott), Margery (Ron), and Sharon (Charles). She will also be lovingly remembered by numerous nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, co-workers, and everyone who ever met her.

Mom was born on December 13th, 1953 in her grandparent’s home in New Bothwell, Manitoba. She had many hobbies including reading, traveling, organizing (everything), but her greatest passion and pride was her family. She kept a family tree that rivalled any ancestry website. Grandma Mary Anne was the root system that fed every branch of an enormous family, which included her immediate family, extended family, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Mary Anne was very loyal to her career at the Wellness Institute where she spent over 20 years in the job she loved. The family extends our sincerest appreciation to everyone at the Wellness Institute and Seven Oaks General Hospital for everything.

A memorial service and luncheon will be held Saturday, April 9 at 11:00 a.m. at Eastview Community Church, 315 Maxwell King Drive, E. St. Paul.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to CancerCare Manitoba.
