Obituary for Nellie Wiebe (Froese)

NELLIE WIEBE
April 22, 1935 – April 21, 2022

Nellie Wiebe was a loving and caring person who was always willing to help her family and friends. Her faith was her anchor that guided her through difficult times. She always thanked the Lord for all her blessings. She loved her family, flowers and gardening, making amazing flower arrangements and cards.

Nellie was born on the family farm in Fox Warren April 22, 1935. Later the family moved to a farm in Warren to be closer to Winnipeg and family.

Nellie graduated from Teachers College in 1956. Teaching at Belmont and Lord Nelson Schools. She spent over two decades as a homemaker, living in Morden, Neepawa, and Winnipeg, raising four children, Laura, Daryl, Brent and Mark. She worked at SAAN, distributed the Winnipeg Free Press around Neepawa, and worked at the Health Science Centre until she had to retire due to disabilities.

Nellie was also really involved with many church groups associated with First Mennonite Church, Neepawa First Baptist, McIvor Mennonite Brethren, Calvary Temple and many woman’s groups.

Nellie was predeceased by her parents, Mary & Jacob Froese, her brother John, sister Anne and son Mark. Nellie died, leaving behind sister Lillie, brother-in-law Aron, 3 children and their spouses, and 7 grandchildren.

Her Funeral will be shared with a Memorial for her son Mark at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at McIvor Mennonite Brethren Church, 200 McIvor Avenue, Winnipeg, with viewing at 10:00 a.m. A reception and open mike will follow the service.
