Obituary for Norinne Greta Goulet (Mailey)

NORINNE GRETA GOULET (NEE MAILEY)
SEPTEMBER 24, 1932 – NOVEMBER 21, 2020

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our mother, Norinne, after a brief battle with Covid-19 at Grace Hospital, early Saturday morning, November 21, 2020. Mom was comforted by nurses (Chipree and Kerron on Friday) at Fred Douglas Lodge and then by staff at Grace Hospital in her final hours and went peacefully.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children Warren (Dale), Lisa (Lorne), Marni, honorary daughter Sheila and her grandchildren, Patrick, Nicole, Garret (Kylee), Brandon (Tarah), Kevin (Michelle), Shanyce (Curtis), Roslyn (Patrick) Roxanne, Sean, Sylver, Shae-D (Dakoda), Serenity, Richard, Delmar (Rachel), Stephen, Raymond and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Norinne was predeceased by her fiancé and long-time love, Joseph Mann; her ex-husband Sanford Leonard Goulet, sons Sean and Darrin, daughter Michele, her parents, David and Gladys Mailey, sisters, Carol, Joan, Merilyn and Sandra, brothers Dave and Dale, and granddaughter Keesha.

Family was everything to Norinne and her happiest moments were spending quality time with her children and many grandchildren. She enjoyed the simple things in life like going shopping for clothes with her children and grandchildren, and watching her favorite day time soap opera, The Young and the Restless. She also, enjoyed doing word search puzzles, going for a car ride, visiting family/friends, or just a good cup of tea. Although she was diabetic, she definitely would cheat and enjoyed her ice cream, Pepsi and chocolate treats. In her younger days, she liked to dress up and wear jewelry on a night out for dancing and singing karaoke. Most of all, she will be remembered for her kindness, forgiving heart, generosity, and fun-loving spirit.

We would like to thank the staff at Fred Douglas Lodge for the time they spent caring for mom in the last 11 months.
Cremation has taken place and a family burial will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, or the charity of your choice.
