SUSAN ELIZABETH PALMER (JOHNSON)
Peacefully, on April 2, 2022 at Seven Oaks General Hospital, Susan Elizabeth Palmer, aged 61, beloved Mother and Wife, passed away. Susan was born November 8, 1960 in Winnipeg, MB.
Her early years were spent living and working in Winnipeg, and doing some traveling to Hawaii and Australia, amongst other locations. Susan met Glen in July of 1996 and promptly married him a year later, in August 1997, after which they continued to live in Winnipeg.
Susan split the majority of her career life with the City of Winnipeg Library Division and the Winnipeg School Division.
Susan was an avid reader, lover of movies, and enjoyed jigsaw puzzles. She became fond of camping at Prairie Oak every summer with family and friends alike. She was well known for her love of cats, just like her mother and sisters. Susan was a social butterfly, never missing an opportunity to meet and make new friends wherever she went. Many people were proud to call her "friend".
Susan's last few years were particularly difficult, dealing with pancreatic cancer through which she showed tremendous strength, integrity, and a positive outlook right until the end.
Susan was predeceased by her parents Betty and Marino.
She leaves to mourn, husband Glen; daughter Rhianne; step-daughter Andrea; step-son Brett (Danielle); brother Rick (Brenda); sisters, Lindy (Peter), Lori (Dave), Sandy (Ward); brothers-in-law Mike (Rhonda), Mitch (Ashley); mother-in-law Audrey (Ken); and many many other dear and cherished relatives and friends.
We, the family, would like to thank the many unrelentless doctors and staff of CancerCare Manitoba, St Boniface Hospital, and Seven Oaks Hospital for their kindness, compassion and care of Susan during her final years.
In accordance with Susan's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 11:00 am at Friends Funeral Services, 2146 Main Street, Winnipeg.
The service will be livestreamed at https://fweb.tv/75605
In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Susan's memory to the CancerCare Manitoba.
Good-bye Susan - You are truly loved and we will all miss you.
