Obituary for Tom Hope

THOMAS CHARLES HOPE

On Saturday, November 12th, 2022, Tom passed away peacefully at age 84 at Actionmarguerite in St. Boniface, Manitoba.

Tom was predeceased by his loving wife, Carol, his parents, Agnes and Robert and sister, Marilyn.

Left to cherish his loving memory are his brother Bob (Kathy); children Tom (Michele), Ray (Jackie) and Bob; grandchildren Tom (Skylar), Brandon, David, Elizabeth, Jennifer, Sarah, and James (Randi); great grandchildren Ella and Erich; nephews Bill and Bob; and other extended family.

Tom was born in Winnipeg on November 22, 1937. After high school, Tom went on to become a Chartered Accountant. Over the years, he worked in private and public firms, and started a software company serving dental offices and car dealerships.

In the summer of 1954, at Victoria Beach, Manitoba, Tom met the love of his life, Carol Milne. They married on September 12, 1959. Tom and Carol first made their home in Winnipeg, before moving to Illinois, Connecticut, Ontario, and finally settling at Victoria Beach.

Tom will be fondly remembered by family and friends for his wisdom, faith, integrity, generous nature, positive attitude, and friendly smile. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

A celebration of Tom’s life will be held Friday, November 25th, 2022, at 12:00 pm at St. Michael’s Church at Victoria Beach, 8th Avenue and Pine Road, followed by a gathering for family and friends at East Beaches Social Scene, 3 Ateah Road, Victoria Beach.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to the Alzheimer’s Society.
