Obituary for Philip Seiler

On April 10, 2022 Walter Philip Seiler passed away suddenly at the age of 63.

Philip is survived by his three sisters, Karin, Irene (Ken Joyal) and Renate; nieces, Laura(Abby), and Ashley(Alek). He is predeceased by his parents, Helmet and Pauline Seiler.

Philip was born in 1959 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He grew up in rural Manitoba and then moved towards adventurous and diverse life experiences. Straight out of high school he joined Missions Outreach and travelled to many countries where he worked in building community resources such as schools, hospitals and orphanages.

He then ventured into the art of the food industry in beautiful locations such as Banff and Calgary Alberta, Ottawa, Ontario and Vancouver, British Columbia. He also enjoyed learning and further educating himself in achieving child care diploma where he worked with families and children and he himself became a foster parent. Later in life he received his engineering certificate to manage residential buildings. For many years he worked at the Hudson Bay Company in various departments.

After many decades of travelling and living in different locations around the world he decided to move back to Manitoba where he could be close to his family. In these years he was a loving and dedicated son to his parents and particularly his mother in her last years of failing health. His devotion was heartfelt and generous which reflected his loving and caring nature. Philip was very close to his sisters and often entertained them with his dry humour and quick wit. He was also a wonderful uncle to his two nieces who loved him dearly.

Philip will always be loved, he will never be forgotten and we will forever miss him.
