Obituary for Bill Mushumanski

On January 6, 2024, Bill's time on earth came to an end and a piece of our hearts went with him.

He leaves behind his wife and best friend, Kerry (Gardiner); daughter and son-in-law, Marcy and Rob Williams; grandson Tyler (Courtney) and soon to be born great-grandson; granddaughter Breanna (Dexter Carr); grandson Brett (Alexis Squires); great-granddaughters, Lennix and Scarlett; brother Harlan (Yvonne); sister Valerie (Milt Drosdoski); sister-in-law Laurie Rous; and numerous nieces and nephews.

It's comforting to know Bill is now reunited with our son, Garrett.

Bill was a proud long haul truck driver for 42 years and worked right up until his leukemia diagnosis in May 2023. He traveled throughout most of Canada and the U.S. and following Kerry's retirement in 2015, she joined him on his adventures. He recently said his favorite employer was his final employer, Frontline Freight Systems. Owners Dennis, Ryan and Mark Burr made him feel more like family than any employee.

Bill loved Rossman Lake, fishing and quadding in the summer and hunting with Tyler in the fall; trips to visit Lannie and Kirk Leptick in Cranberry Portage; the years with Guy and Cathy Dearman and The Sweetwater Gang horseback riding, especially when Breanna was with us; exploring abandoned farm houses around Rossburn with Marcy; cabbage roll making competitions with Rob; attending Brett's hockey games and actually getting kicked out of one; and woodworking in the garage where he created keepsakes we will all cherish forever.

Thanks to Dr. Chantal Menard, Lisa, Dawn, Sherry and all the nurses at CancerCare Manitoba and GD6, and to the nurses from home care for the wonderful care and compassion.

In Bill's memory, please consider a monetary donation to CancerCare Manitoba or a life-saving blood or bone marrow donation (blood.ca)
