Obituary for John Unger
REVEREND DR. JOHN UNGER
Dad is home! Peacefully, on March 14, 2018 John Unger was set free when his body ultimately failed after 91 years.
Dad was a teacher and a preacher most of his life and while he proclaimed the love of Christ to many, he modelled the love of Christ to even more. He was a blessing to everyone around him. Whether faced with kindness or cruelty, he responded with love, God’s unconditional love. His unrelenting kindness will be missed, and his absence felt most dearly, by his wife, Mary, and his children and grandchildren.
A viewing will be held at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday March 22, 2018. We also invite you to come celebrate his life with us at Portage Avenue Community Church, 1420 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba at 1:30 p.m. Friday March 23, 2018. Reception to follow in the church basement.
Flowers and gifts are gratefully declined, instead we know Dad would be like nothing more than for you to bless someone around you in need. And please tell them for him, “God loves you!”
